On Saturday 14 members of Waterside Art Group enjoyed a fun and inspiring mixed media workshop led by John Edwards.   

The morning was spent exploring mark making using acrylic paint with rollers, cardboard, corrugated cardboard etc. The result obviously tending to the semi abstract.   A short demo and then we were given a MDF board and told to have a “journey exploring”.   Fun but nothing like as easy as it sounds and such concentration required.  The results were all so different. Here are a few. 

The afternoon challenge was to block in a landscape using either acrylic or watercolour and add people to the scene. Then we added pastel to the watercolour/acrylic base for texture such as in the clouds and people and other extras.  Thank you John for a great day as we all travelled further along our individual paths on our artistic journey.
