After the storm

We were delighted to welcome John to our group on Tuesday evening to give us a demonstration showing how the use of colour affects the mood of a painting.  He used pastels which are a very versatile medium to depict this scene after a storm.  The use of lights and darks brings a vitality to the painting.   Adding the two figures in the right hand corner gives scale to the painting.  There were lots of questions and it was a very informative evening.   John even had time to do an autumn colourful scene as a second one for us.  We were delighted to welcome some visitors and we would be pleased to see any of them on a Tuesday evening at our regular painting sessions.  Thank you John.
