How to paint animal portraits in acrylics – by a Crufts artist

Local acrylics artist Dave White will be demonstrating to Waterside Art Group at its meeting on Tuesday 26th February at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre off Jones Lane in Hythe.  Visitors will be very welcome to attend.

Dave is well known for his animal portraits having exhibited at Crufts and the Kennel Club since 2009.  He has written tuition books on dog and horse portraits as well as  the “Sea and Sky”. The latter subject gives him particular pleasure.  His website is: www.davewhite.org.uk.

All demonstrations at Waterside Art Group are projected onto a large screen, enabling all of the audience to easily see the painting as it develops, as well as providing the facility for showing enlarged details.

The demonstration commences at 7.30pm and the visitor fee is £4.00.

Demonstration by Jamel Akib

25th June 2019- 7:30pm – 9:30pm

A master in his art – Jamel Akib to demonstrate in Hythe

Waterside Art Group is extremely pleased to host a return visit by Salisbury based artist Jamel Akib to its meeting on Tuesday 25th June at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre off Jones Lane in Hythe.  Visitors will be very welcome to attend.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In what is promised to be an exciting evening Jamel will be demonstrating a cityscape in pastels and a portrait in oils.

Critique of members’ paintings by John Edwards

We can always enhance our art by listening to the good points and the opportunities for improvement highlighted by a knowledgable professional.  Well, on Tuesday 23rd July at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre off Jones Lane in Hythe, everybody is invited to hear local artist and tutor John Edwards review the work of members of Waterside Art Group.

Even those who do not take paintings along to be reviewed by John will find that there is a lot to learn from his positive comments about certain aspects of a painting as well as from his gentle hints of how a painting could be improved.  Therefore this learning evening will be as applicable to visitors as it will be to members.

Demonstration by Clarissa Russell

‘Experimental landscape in acrylic’

Waterside Art Group will be  delighted to welcome the Hampshire based fine artist Clarissa Russell to present a demonstration on Tuesday 24th September at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre off Jones Lane in Hythe.  Visitors will be very welcome to attend.

In what promises to be an out-of-the-ordinary evening, Clarissa, who studied at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art in London, will be demonstrating her latest approaches to landscape painting.

Clarissa lived and worked in Italy for many years where the clear light and bright colour led to a life long passion in all media and subjects.  She exhibits widely at home and abroad and has exhibited in many prestigious galleries.  More recently , she has taken part in “The Big Draw” as part of a national campaign to promote art.  Clarissa’s website is: https://www.clarissarussell.com

Going Wild in Watercolour” in Hythe

Be inspired by exciting artist Jake Winkle as he captures light and movement in his demonstration “Going Wild in Watercolour”.  This is being hosted by Waterside Art Group on Tuesday 26th November at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre off Jones Lane in Hythe.  Visitors will be very welcome to attend.
