WAG Annual Summer Exhibition 2018

Monday 20th August to Saturday 25th August, 10am to 4pm:

This year Waterside Art Group will be staging its annual summer exhibition as part of Hampshire Open Studios.  This event includes about 250 artists, craftspeople and groups throughout the county.

The Group invites the community to visit its exhibition of members’ original paintings and drawings at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre off Jones Lane in Hythe from Monday 20th August until Saturday 25th August.  Entry is free.

The exhibition will be open from 10am until 4pm each day and will include works in a variety of media including oils, acrylics, watercolours, pencil, pastel and others.  The range of subjects will be equally diverse and will include landscapes, still life, abstract and animal portraits.

The majority of work will be for sale including framed pictures, miniatures and greetings cards based upon original paintings.

After the great success of the Group’s 2018 calendar, the group is producing one for 2019 with a completely new set of images of Hythe and The Waterside.  This will be available during the exhibition as well as at The Herald office.  There is a high probability that most of the original paintings used for the calendar will be available for sale during the exhibition.

A raffle for an original painting by a local artist will also be held once again.

Refreshments will be available in the Centre during exhibition opening hours.

Submission of portraits and life drawings for any exhibition must be accompanied by a Model Release Form obtainable from the secretary or as a download here:  Model release form.   The entry form for the Waterside Art Group 2018 Summer exhibition is now available and can be downloaded here: Exhibition entry form 2018

The summer Exhibition is the main exhibition for the group but sometimes other opportunities arise and these will be added once known.
